Large Size Mahi Fish design Antique Persian Khorassan Carpet, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1900 — This amazing antique carpet displays exceptional attention to meticulously detailed designs. The black field carries an ornate floral motif in brownish red and white shades. These same colors carry over through all parts of the composition. The reddish brown colored double border alternates long medallions containing geometric designs in black with diminutive white flower blossoms outlined in black. It is separated by three narrow decorative scrolling guard borders from a second, outer border bearing intricately detailed scrolling grapes and flowers. The outer border also adjoins narrow decorative guard borders containing intricate decorative scrolling patterns. Collectors today often seek finely crafted, beautiful antique Persian Khorassan rugs and carpets.
