Antique Persian Kashan Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1920 – Like many of the best Kashan rugs, this stunning antique Persian rug uses flowing shapes and round patterns to create an almost solid degree of color. The unifying presence of purple and red draws attention to the center of the rug, moving away from the darker tones at the edges, appearing almost like a fire illuminating the night. The floral patterns flow into and around one another, creating a network of elegant natural elements. Deep mauve and rich cream colors add further points of contrast and interest to the antique rug, establishing the details along the finer sections along the borders and between looping intersections.
