Antique Uzbek Suzani Embroidery Textile, Origin: Uzbekistan – Here is a unique and exciting antique Oriental rug – an antique Suzani embroidery textile that was woven in Uzbekistan. A delightful and exciting composition, this antique textile flows over with whimsical design elements that are woven in the finest tradition of Uzbek embroideries. Featuring a lovely splay of abstract floral design elements, this charming example is woven with a design that graces the finest Uzbek weavings, wherein a coterie of blossoms is arranged around a central figure. Often, such examples will utilize contrasting colors to great effect, and this device is certainly in practice here: for while the entire piece is colored with a lovely shade of red, from the borders through the field, the large and numerous floral details that appear throughout are all a soft shade of blue. The deep contrast between this hue and that of the field is such that the entire piece takes on a dynamic quality; the high contrast blossoms are assertive and dominant, despite the large amount of red to be found throughout the entire piece. A beautiful example, this antique Uzbek Suzani embroidery textile delights with an exciting design.
