Antique Oushak Carpet, Country Of Origin: Turkey, Circa Date: 1900 — Sophisticated magnificence and aged elegance imbue this lovely and ethereal Oushak rug. Handwoven in the ancient Turkish city of Usak, the piece begins with a pale crimson border decorated with small, delicate blossoms framing a broad border dominated by beautiful renderings of traditional tribal motifs. Pale crimson and yellow gold dominate the pale background, framing the ethereal heart of this stunning piece: a pale background overlaid with traditional symbols of the peony and the tree of life over red, emphasizing the stunning medallion at the center. Seven trees above and seven below stand sentry over the intricately detailed diamond wreathed in violet, enclosing a breathtaking pattern of pale green, softest blue, and pale red. Sophisticated, elegant, and truly lovely, this magnificent Turkish carpet ensures a classical and fitting statement piece.
