Vintage Turkish Kilim Rug, Origin: Turkish, Circa Date: Mid 20th Century – A sea of red jumps to greet the viewer on this stylish vintage Turkish kilim rug. The vibrant background at the core of the vintage rug is embraced by an encircling border of deep black. Within the depths of the thick border of this Turkish rug are numerous white and red flowers, each set in similar diagonal paths to convey movement and rhythm. Within the center of the kilim are several white and beige figures, each standing out in their own unique way to play with the viewer’s perspective. The sharp contrast that these figures create around the single shade of ruby red results in the negative and positive space alternating at the viewer’s whim.
