Antique Kurdish Carpet, Country Of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1920 — This beautiful antique Persian Kurdish carpet depicts fiery scenery through its clever use of contrasting colors and patterns. The bright tangerine orange color within the carpet’s borders is further highlighted by the dancing leaves and fronds set within, stitched in a striking series of blue and golds to draw contrast against the other hues. At the center of the carpet are three distinct scenes, artfully established amidst royal fields of flowers. The uppermost and lowermost abstract figures point towards each other to create an anchor for the eye to drink in every detail present in the middle scene, which depicts a regal and lavish palace.
