Antique Tribal Persian Kurdish Hallway Runner Rug, Persia, circa 1890 – This Kurdish carpet features a series of stacked guls decorated with traditional dragon motifs and double-outlined amulet details. The dark blue field features combs, checker patterns, burdock motifs and a variety of ancient protection symbols. Water-motif inner borders and turreted outer guard bands frame the main borders, which are filled with geometric cloudband variations, wine-cup motifs and serrated leaves set over a sienna-colored background.
