Gallery Size Persian Antique Tribal Serab Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1900 – This antique Persian rug features a wheat-hued central field with a repeating pattern of diamond shaped ornaments. Each figure extends stylized flowers from its upper and lower ends, showcasing squared-off patterns with flowers and buds stitched in orange, blue and green. The light-toned space between the staggered shapes of this antique Serab rug contains a maze-like decoration in a slightly darker tan, adding a hypnotic element to the striking piece. Several borders enclose the area in the middle, each thick with geometric designs and precise black line-work. The bands are all backed with orange, a vibrant hue that adds even more warmth to the tribal-styled antique rug. The widest border showcases bright blossoms with jagged edges, each colored a different hue from its neighbor in this camel hair rug.
