Vintage Persian Bakhtiari Rug, Persia, Vintage – This exquisite Bakhtiari village rug from Persia depicts an ornate pendant-flanked medallion enclosed by a series of inset lozenges. Elegant saz leaves with poly chromatic accents, crisp outlines and deeply serrated edges line the intersections of the boldly contrasting medallions. Angular arabesques and graphic botanical motifs enhanced with contrasting outlines create a high-impact pattern that is emphasized by the vibrant selection of saturated colors. Subtle spandrels rendered in crisp white hues are juxtaposed beautifully by the transitional salmon-colored segments and intricately decorated ivory-colored field. The magnificent main borders and broad guard bands create a formal enclosure that includes angular vine scrolls and lavish botanical motifs with arching stamens that resemble symbolic ram’s horns.
