The central octofoil medallion features poly-chromatic outlines, elegant floral motifs and lotus blossom pendants with recurved petals. Branching vine-scrolls woven in the characteristic angular style of Heriz meander across the broad red field. Ornate guard-bands decorated with minute floral details and formal borders featuring an archetypal pattern of reciprocating turtle motifs and interwoven vine-scrolls surround the superbly colored field. Vibrant turquoise green spandrels with apricot pink accents emphasize the angular geometry and superb colors that make this antique rug from Heriz such a classic, elegant piece.
