Vintage Sarkoy Turkish Kilim Rug, Country of Origin: Turkey, Circa Date: Mid 20th Century– This vintage Turkish rug features a red field dominated by a repeating pattern of irregular hexagons. Each black-edged shape is packed with a jagged diamond form, and the perfectly spaced shapes display a progression of colors, from red to green to white to the palest blue. Tiny hourglass icons rest at the center of each shape of this Kilim. Black and white pointed cross-like figures create columns between the main figure, breaking up the bright colors. Several thin borders trim this vivid area, their long edges scalloped, surrounding a black band with starry white dots and colorful barbells. A wide white band with colorful geometric forms completes this area rug.
