Antique Turkish Oushak Rug, Country of Origin: Turkey, Circa Date: Early 20th Century– Centered with the shape of an arched window, this Turkish rug is warm with bright oranges and faded gold tones. Stitched like a hanging chandelier, the antique central design depicts leaves and flowers connected by thin, white lines to a darker anchor in the middle. The otherwise empty field is ringed with leaves that are connected to a repeating, darker border, and more autumnal designs fill the space above the arch of this Oushak. A band of the darker orange edges the piece, creating lighter leaves and flowers with negative space. This antique rug’s light bars accented with stylized, angular vinery and fronds frame the larger border.
