Small Modern Swedish Scandinavian Inspired Kilim Rug, Country of Origin: India, Circa Date: Modern– This modern Swedish Scandinavian rug displays a geometrically perfect design of several plus symbols stacked against a marbled tan field. The background color is variegated like wavering lines of heavy cream in coffee. The crosses, aligned vertically to meet at their inner edges, are stitched with solid hues of light gray and navy blue, alternating to prevent identical colors from touching. The six shapes in this modern kilim rug create two squares along the center line, which showcase smaller figures. Identical in shape, the two empty boxes are rendered in bright orange and sunny yellow. Pale bands in a shade matching the lighter crosses edge the top and bottom of the modern rug.
