A Beautifully Tribal and Artistic Antique Turkish Ghiordes Carpet, Country of Origin: Turkey, Circa 1900 — True to many other Turkish designs, this antique Turkish Ghiordes carpet features an attractively muted color scheme that allows the finer details of the piece to shine through. Bright red hues are set against paler buttermilk tones to create elegant instances of contrast. A bright zig-zagging line splits up the space within the larger border, and the elegant color combinations serve to create a grounding unity throughout the other elements. Between the borders is a series of asymmetrical lines and spaces, appearing almost as a landscape for the viewer to explore and observe how all of the motifs and hues come together.
