Beautiful and Impressive Dragon Design Antique Turkish Rug by Tuduc, Country of Origin: Turkey, Circa Date: 1910 – Standing out starkly from a background of burnt rust orange, rich black forms thick, jagged outlines of two diamonds with curving sides over this antique Turkish rug which was woven by the iconic Tuduc rug weaver . Light accents form birds and small, simply styled flowers within the dark space. A flame-like design of sunny yellow spills overtop the side-by-side figures, which meet in the center below a white ornament. Green, blue and white accents form stylized trees and floral shapes, filling every last corner of the antique rug’s vivid central field. A stout border encloses the piece, backed in white with solid shapes outlined in black forming a beautifully repeating motif of orange, yellow and blue flowers.
