Antique Persian Serapi Rug, Origin: Persia, Circa: Early 20th Century– This antique rug’s exterior border has an alternating blue floral pattern that is atop a sun bleached, red background. This borders a wider, neutral colored border that is the perfect enhancement for its asymmetrically, eccentric center. The floral pattern on this border features a geometric floral pattern wandering along its path. Its center’s background is the aforementioned blue- grey hue. Continuity creates flow because the floral pattern that careens along its course is of the lighter- toned blues and neutrals that enhance the other borders. Underneath this floral pattern is a celebration of rouge, but asymmetrically centered, adding to the intrigue of this piece.
