Finely Woven Antique Persian Tabriz Rug, Country Of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1920’s – This antique Persian rug, an impressive antique Persian Tabriz rug, showcases a stunning sixteen-pointed star stitched in slate blue and creamy white over a red field. Each arm of the star holds a lavish, many-petaled figure like a fantastical lotus blossom. The stunning shape seems to unfurl from its lighter center, and each tip is crowned with a smaller floral element. The vividly crimson field that surrounds and contains the medallion brims with light-hued blossoms and leaves to form an elaborate filigree. The light blue corners of this antique rug are filled with patterning in a similar theme, and a set of ornate borders encloses the central field. The widest band in red matches the bright field behind the star.
