Tabriz Rug, Egypt, Contemporary – This elegant Tabriz-style rug from Egypt is decorated with a sophisticated allover arabesque featuring a beautiful combination of grand palmettes and dainty floral motifs. Earth-tone palmettes, flamboyant rosettes and ornate medallions decorate the soft ivory field with a well-balanced floral pattern. Polychromatic palmettes with masterfully rendered details dominate the foreground while interwoven vinescrolls with spiraling flourishes strengthen the gentle mid-ground details. The elegantly decorated field is enclosed by multiple sets of guardbands and grand main borders decorated with an elegant pattern of reciprocating palmettes flanked by a series of arching panicles, which are decorated with contrasting blossoms that continue the muted earth-tone color scheme.
