Beautiful Room Size Modernist Collection Rug, Rug Type / Country of Origin: India – If you are searching for a unique modern rug that will be sure to draw attention, this artistic, contemporary piece might be perfect. It uses the dramatic contrast of black and white, texture, and a shape that is unique. The artist of this carpet created a piece that will add interest to room design and something that is quite unexpected.

The shape of this modernist rug is the first thing that stands out. It appears as if a rectangular carpet has been cropped to reveal a non-traditional form. This was complemented by the use of hand-knotted pile areas alternating with lower areas of plain weave to add another dimension to the visual impact of the piece.

The design of the geometric carpet uses abrupt changes in the direction of the line to create motion. The black rectangular area uses a zigzag pattern to differentiate it from the rest of the design. The predominantly white area looks as if it is crosshatching, similar to a pen and ink drawing.

This is a highly imaginative area rug woven in India and could be used to create a unique space within the home or office. It would be perfect for areas that have a wall at an angle, or perhaps, it could be used to connect two areas as a walkway. This unique piece holds many possibilities.
