Multiple sets of crisscrossing borders with broken boundaries frame the sparsely decorated field alongside a series of poly chromatic stripes that reflect the subdued combination of ebony, tawny brown, golden-yellow and emerald green that is featured throughout the composition. Created circa 1920, this striking vintage Swedish rug features strong rectilinear geometry, graphic motifs and a minimalist composition that embodies an air of classic modernism, a trend that was introduced in the early 20th century and prevails today.
