Through the skilled use of bordering, the viewer is led along a brightly colored line, one that mixes bright blues and reds with a milky white to create an incredible degree of contrast against the backdrop of the piece. The borders culminate in two boxes at either end of the shawl, which house two bright blue boteh within them, creating vibrant movement and flowing shapes through the piece.
