Antique Kurdish, Persia – This runner-style carpet features traditional stacked-lozenge medallions and checkerboard patterns with dramatic, simplified designs woven in shades of natural green and peachy apricot-pinks, which have acquired a subtle patina. Each lozenge is decorated with serrated cocoon motifs and a number of traditional symbols. This Kurdish carpet is completed by Persian guard bands and a madder-red main border.
