Antique Persian Tabriz Runner, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: First Quarter of the Twentieth Century – Showing its age beautifully, this stately Tabriz carpet features a classical design that runs the length of its long and narrow format. Sandwiched in-between inner and outer borders of pale gold, the primary border is fiery orange-red, and decorated with fine floral and vine scroll detail elements. The field, meanwhile, is notable for its comely abrash: from the top to the bottom, this carpet exhibits an exciting range of blues. Throughout the length of the field, a classical and elegant spay of vine scrolls and floral elements unfolds. These are colored with the same pale gold and orange-red tones that appear in the borders; this device gives the carpet a powerful feel of balance. This antique Persian Tabriz rug is simply magnificent!
