Antique Indian Rug, India, Circa 1900 – This vibrant antique rug from India features an exceptionally unique repeating pattern based around aqua medallions with magenta latch hooks. Serrated boteh motifs and angular vine scrolls form an intimated latticework pattern embellished by ornate lotus blossoms with peachy pink accents. Wide main borders decorated with latch hook vine scrolls and arthropod floral motifs contrast the saturated magenta inner borders, which feature ornate floral patterns with angular foliage and dainty rosettes. Zigzagging guard bands and secondary borders decorated with minute floral motifs resembling “X”.
