Large and Decorative All Over Design Antique Indian Rug, Country of Origin: India, Circa Date: 1920 -A blue-tinted black and pale brown combine to create an intricate pattern across the dark cream of this antique Indian rug. Lightly tinted circular flowers and lovely, lush fronds are connected thematically by faint vines and stems, some forming diamond-shaped borders for loose blossoms. The primary pattern is made up of leafy forms of peacock feather eyes, which repeat across the body of the antique rug, alternating direction in rows and columns. A narrow strip of dark triangles, paired in a straight line with jagged edges, encloses the wide main area. Two wider borders finish the piece, their widths filled with stylized floral elements accented with black.
