Persian Sultanabad Rug, Persia, Contemporary – This stunning contemporary rug from Sultanabad features a fantastic allover arabesque incorporating a vibrant combination of saffron yellow, scarlet red, apricot pink and cerulean blue set against a clear ivory field. Flame-like palmettes with deeply serrated details and brilliant vinescrolls that are highlighted by contrasting outlines create a spectacular allover pattern with latticework quatrefoils and layered details. Branching tulip motifs that morph into flower-laden vine-scrolls decorate the ivory main borders, which feature elegant floral motifs rendered in a stunning variety of clear colors. Crenellated fence motifs and narrow guard-bands decorated with reciprocating floral details surround the ornate main borders, which feature overlapped corners and a tremendous floral pattern rendered in a vividly colorful style.
