This spectacular antique Shirvan rug displays an impeccable allover latticework pattern accompanied by S-hook borders and symbols synonymous with the region.

Antique Caucasian Shirvan Rug, Caucasus – This exemplary antique Caucasian Shirvan rug embodies the magnificence of regional designs from the district of Shirvan. Iconic regional patterns, robust reds and regionally important symbols are combined to create an impeccable allover latticework pattern. This stunning, versatile allover design is perfect as a statement piece or the foundation of a sophisticated interior. The creamy alabaster field is crisscrossed with serrated trellises that confine branching shrubs and floral sprays. These botanical motifs cleverly feature protective eye motifs and branching Tree of Life figures with latch hook extensions. Muted blues, scarlet reds and crisp ivory accents are featured in the softly colored field and reflected in the fiery Zoroastrian borders. Colorful stepped lozenge inner borders, checkered lozenge outer borders and complex S-hook main borders provide a classical conclusion synonymous with carpets from Shirvan.
