Woven in Tabriz during the late 19th century, this antique rug features a superb tile pattern rendered in an iconic combination of camel brown and Persian blue.

Small Scatter Size Antique Persian Tabriz Scatter Size Area Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: Late 19th Century – This elegant carpet from Tabriz features an exceptional geometric tile pattern embellished with cloud-bands and gently unfurling arabesques. Clear blue accents burgeoning on turquoise offset the soft earth-tone background that is dominated by a combination of sandy tan and walnut brown. Arching floral sprays and flower clusters with re-curving tendrils provide a formal frame for the elegant field along with walnut brown guard-bands that feature reciprocating vine-scrolls and pendulous floral motifs. This exquisite rug features strong angular lines complimented by curve-linear arabesques woven with a supreme level of detail and softly oxidized colors, which display a subtle abrash.
