Antique Persian Tehran Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1900– A rich mosaic of black and white panels, nestled within stark borders, fills every inch of this antique Persian rug. Nine rectangles fill the central area, each displaying a perfect medallion patterned with exquisitely detailed, tiny flowers. These shapes are surrounded by more floral decorations, alternating white and back backgrounds in a checkered pattern on the antique rug. Several bands surround the individual panels as well as the entire central field on the antique Persian Tehran rug, leading to a wide border of interlocked, round blossoms. Touches of lingering red-orange accent the rug in the form of linework on and around the flowers, adding warmth to the heavy contrast of the primary shades.
