Antique Farahan Carpet, Persia, 1920 –A bright and fiery vista of vibrant vermilion and soft grapefruit tones immediately jumps to greet the viewer’s eyes in this captivating antique rug. True to its antique Persian rug style, two attractive, thin borders surround a larger, central frame, the arrangement adding layers and depth to the carpet’s structure. Tiny cobalt blue and marigold yellow flowers grace the small borders, while the largest space between them contains elegantly interlaced blossoms of varying colors, almost floating in their connections. At the very center of the carpet are several vibrant blooms of all colors, their opulent forms highlighted by their contrast against the volcanic background.
