Ivory Background Vintage Persian Tabriz Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 20th Century — The outstanding detail in this incredible ivory background fine floral vintage Persian Tabriz area rug offers visual interest and crisp, bright colors. The cream field displays a highly complex motif of interwoven geometric shapes, flowers, buds, leaves and stems in vivid hues of red, pink, blue, orange, green, black and white. It contrasts markedly with the broad scarlet border, an area where alternating deep brown and detailed greenish-gray geometric symbols scroll among flower blossoms. Two thin, navy blue guard borders employ a scrolling pattern of blossoms. Tabriz has enjoyed a reputation as a center for the production of carpets and lovely rugs for centuries, particularly during a 400 year period between the 12th and 16th centuries.
