Antique Persian Tabriz Hallway Runner Rug, Origin: Persia, Circa 1900 — This beautiful antique Persian Tabriz rug, a long and narrow hallway runner, is designed to lead the viewer’s eyes down while a central pattern is decoratively repeated throughout. Dark, smoldering colors define the piece, drawing the viewer’s eyes to key sections at a leisurely pace. The largest border is richly decorated with bright blooms and leaves, and it is surrounded by smaller borders that house lines of flowers, each of which are set side by side with each other, facing up and down in alternating directions. At the antique carpet‘s center, red and buttermilk dance against each other in alternating backdrops behind a flow of petals and flowers.
