Bifurcated calyces with spiraling tendrils give these supporting elements the decorative scalloped edges that are a hallmark of the region’s splendid medallion carpets. Lavish midnight blue main borders contain radiant rosettes, Shah Abbasi palmettes and pendulous floral sprays that trail around the large-scale motifs.
