Antique Tabriz Rug, Origin: Persia, Circa 1900 — Like many other Tabriz rugs developed during this era, this carpet features tremendous details in its stitching. A rich, bronze border circles around the rug, with beautiful columns of flowers running along the interior of the frame. Skillful use of taupe and cream tones creates contrast, allowing the individual details to shine through. A deep, smoky gray color sets the background to the core of the rug, resulting in an almost night-like appearance that establishes the perfect backdrop to the flow of petals and perennials, all connected together through a graceful network of stems and vines.
