Decorative Antique Persian Khorassan Oriental Rug, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Antique Persian Rugs, Circa Date: 1910 – Though many classic traditional antique Persian Khorassan rugs skillfully use floral colors to convey a sense of natural peace, this antique rug is unique in its effortless presentation of blushing pink tones. The pink presence stands out beautifully against a steely blue, and the presence of the two floral colors seem to add vivacity and wonder to the rest of the piece, in such a way that all of the other motifs seem to spring to life. Several glowing borders frame against each other in alternating patterns of pink and blue. Their interiors are defined by the sweet presence of flowing petals and dainty perennials, all joined together through a network of curling vines and stems. At the rug’s center is a field of blue, housing numerous flowery growths that continue the patterns found within the borders unimpeded and free.
