At a glance, the Turkish rug’s stitchery is fine enough that the colors almost seem to blur into each other through a complex and thorough crosshatching. Upon closer inspection, however, viewers will observe that the lines are thin and dark enough to stand out against the lighter backdrop of each section of the antique rug. Whether present in the darker borders or in the creamy beige of the heart of the rug, these beautiful lines create a network of motion for the viewer to enjoy.
