Antique Persian Kerman Area Rug, Persia, Early 20th Century – Featuring masses of colorful, tightly-grouped floral elements, this exuberant Shah Abbas-style carpet from the Persians city of Kerman is woven with an astonishing level of detail. This traditional Kerman carpet with a light, ivory background is an excellent example of the region’s superbly detailed designs that are as elaborate as any produced in Persia’s great weaving cities. The complex border designs with heavily ornamented patterns set on a rich burgundy background feature a number of swags, clouds bands, and secondary patterns.
