Extremely Fine Antique Persian Haji Jalili Tabriz Rug 49170, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Persian Rugs, Circa Date: 1880 – The pale cream central field of this antique Tabriz rug brims with a repeating pattern of arabesques. Each flared figure nests against the next in an embellished latticework, as each also displays a variety of detailed botanical decorations. Twigs throng with an assortment of leaves, berries and blossoms, with dark lines that define subtle details. This pattern reiterates over the body of the Persian rug, enclosed by a wide series of narrow borders, nested in pairs around a central ribbon. Shades of blue contrast perfectly with the golden tones of the borders, finishing the antique rug with the semblance of burnished, exquisite jewelry.
