Antique Indian Runner Rug, Country of Origin: India, Circa Date: 1920– A floral pattern spreads over this long antique Indian runner rug rendered in warm tones of orange, yellow and red against a de-saturated green background. Dark red lines create stems and vines that run through the overall pattern, unifying it with a cohesive theme. Stylized leaves and blossoms unfurl over the long body of the area rug, filling the space with a multitude of shapes and styles that are never incongruous. Pale yellow and near-white touches complement the darker, more vivid red figures. A golden yellow band edges the piece, repeating patterns of simple flowers alternating along the length and width.
