Antique Jajim Kilim, Origin: Persia, Circa 1920 — Like many other flat woven kilims, this one focuses on the use of colors and simple shapes to create the desired movements theme. Vibrant colors are presented in cascading lines through the piece, designed to stir emotions more than portray any particular real-world likeness. Deep crimsons, sage greens, bright oranges, navy blues, sandy taupes, royal purples and earthy browns all stand together in a series of stripes. Though the order may seem random at first glance, there is a distinct pattern of colors and lines, which sets a grounding standard that the rest of the area rug follows.
