Antique Tribal Collectible Turkish Yastic Rug, Country Of Origin: Turkey, Circa Date: Late 19th Century – Unlike many traditional antique Turkish Yastic rugs, this Yastic antique Turkish rug is unique in the angular elements and blocks that create an abstract theme in this work. Several pastel colors are skillfully chosen to create points of transition and contrast in the antique rug. Gentle green, soft azure, bright red and earthy brown all convey a sense of unity and purpose throughout. Though the piece does contain many flowing elements, there is a definite sense of movement in the arrows chosen to represent the borders. These arrows break up many of the rigid spaces and serve to ground them even further within the context of this rare and collectible antique tribal Turkish Yastic rug.
