Antique Persian Heriz Serapi Rug, Origin: Persia, Circa: Late 19th Century – Produced in Northwest Persia in the district of Iranian-Azerbaijan, this Serapi carpet is an excellent example of the Heriz medallion and the locally-preferred color scheme, including coppery reds and the classic traditional Persian blue, which have acquired a gentle patina. With classic split-leaf motifs, dramatic cloud band corner accents, and well-developed borders that include intact guard bands, this antique carpet represents many of the region’s iconic traits.
