The drawing is unusually precise and delicate, echoing the restraint and softness of the palette with its cool greens and tans in combination with the sparing areas of black. In place of the broad vine scroll borders typical of Heriz or Serapi carpets, here we see a relatively narrow main border with an unusual design of shrubs or small trees. All these qualities converge to distinguish this piece from others of its kind.
