Antique Persian Heriz Serapi Rug 49105, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Persian Rugs, Circa Date: 1920 – With a striking variety of colors and patterns rising to greet the viewer, it is easy to see why the Persian Heriz rug style of weaving has become so popular among collectors. A thick central border surrounds the heart of the Persian rug, the border itself perfectly framed between two thinner bars that act as outlines. Warm colors dominate the palette, but there are still plenty of instances of cream, blue and green to contrast against the grapefruit red surface. Angular motions stand out at the foreground of this antique rug, though the sharp lines do not detract from the obvious display of motion that leads the viewer from one flowing frond to the next.
