Boteh-motif inner borders and narrow camel brown guard bands decorated with reciprocating floral vine scrolls complement the neutral tones used throughout the elegant field. Sinuous vine scroll quatrefoils featuring poly chromatic shading link the ornate rosettes and palmette medallions that dominate the composition. Strongly re curving vine scrolls decorated with superfluous floral details and golden-yellow saz-leaf motifs form a series of dramatic spirals across the midnight blue field. Woven during the turn of the 20th century, this exquisite antique Persian rug features an unusual asymmetric composition and a warm Mediterranean color scheme reminiscent of weavings from Anatolia.
