Antique Caucasian Seychour Rug, Country of Origin: Caucasus, Circa Date: 1900 – This antique Caucasian rug, a beautiful antique Seychour carpet from the beginning of the 20th century, has a gentle and striking gradient. Woven in a rich, antique navy with accents of Aegean and azure blues, all of the colors come together, grounded and made all the more distinct by the presence of the coffee and cream details within. Richly designed, this antique carpet presents a beautiful geometric representation of a floral design motif that is held in place by rigid shapes within the focal area. Blossoms appear to grow between each ridge and curve, reminding the viewer of lush flowers blooming from stonework vases. The outer border fades to cream with softened yet bold depictions of leaves and vines.
