Mashad Rug
Mashad rugs are known for the curvilinear designs with a central medallion. High quality wool rugs produced in northeastern Iran, Mashad rugs are primarily woven in workshops or on home-based looms in the surrounding towns. These rugs often feature corner floral designs and an allover floral motif. The background is typically crimson with a blue medallion although different color schemes are found. Typical designs include the shah abbasi, herati and boteh patterns.
