Vintage Moroccan Rug, Origin: Morocco, Circa: Mid 20th Century – This stately vintage rug from Morocco exhibits beautifully complex latticework patterns embellished with ancient symbols and boldly drawn motifs rendered in a striking high-contrast combination of ivory and deep walnut brown. Stacked brick motifs, cruciform hac symbols, ladder motifs embellished with incremental hash marks and goz protection symbols against the evil eye decorate the individual latticework cells along with carefully divided checkerboard motifs. Rendered in an eclectic style, this vintage rug incorporates precise geometry, abstract symbols and ancient motifs to create a marvelous allover pattern that is unique, modern yet incorporates influences from historical pasts.
