Antique Caucasian Karabagh Runner Rug, Origin: Caucasus, Circa Date: 1900 – Karabagh is situated in the southern portion of the Caucasus mountains near the border of what is now present-day Armenia and Azerbaijan. Karabagh does not refer to a specific tribe or ethnic group, but rather rugs from a specific region. This gorgeous piece has a vase design with abundant Flowers flowing over the top. Karabagh carpets have a unique artistic style that includes areas of solid color and other areas that utilized extensive shading to create a realistic, three-dimensional effect.
