This delightful antique Baluch bag from Afghanistan features a lovely variety of traditional patterns rendered in a limited color palette. Intricate rows of opposing saw tooth running water motifs rendered in ivory and obscure black line the center of the bag while decorative strap work borders flank the sides of the perpendicular running water motifs. The detailed border patterns include protective wolf’s mouth emblems, cruciform symbols with stepped edges and minor zigzagging motifs. Bearded fringes with poly chromatic accents line the sides and bottom of this quirky antique Afghan Baluch bag. Double pairs of crisp white beads adorn the deep, dark tassels while creating a bold level of contrast between light and dark.
